03 / Journey
Education, risk analysis, cross-border research, and a continuing commitment to building work that can stand on its own.
Born in Istanbul, with Italian and Turkish roots, Cornelia grew up between cultural contexts, institutions, and expectations. International schooling and family conversations about industry, capital structures, and public responsibility fostered an early interest in how organizations make choices.
Stanford turned that interest into a rigorous study of economics, markets, strategy, and organizational behavior. The aim was not to inherit an answer. It was to learn how to arrive at one independently.
2003–2007

2008–2010
MBA study across finance, operations, strategy, organizational behavior, leadership, international business, negotiation, and risk models.
2010–2012
Portfolio risk analysis involving corporate credit risk, macroeconomic data, multi-currency volatility, and the capital needs of European industrial clients.
2012–2014
Research across automation, medical technology, communications infrastructure, and long-duration investment in industrial innovation.
2014–2016
Independent research and asset-allocation work between London and New York for European capital institutions and U.S. industrial funds, with a focus on capital structures, governance, and cross-market risk.
2016–2017
Began building an independently funded research team spanning financial analysis, data engineering, industrial research, policy risk, and private-market due diligence. The aim was to develop repeatable decision frameworks, preserve the reasoning behind judgments, and reduce avoidable bias.
2017–today
Work across asset allocation, manager research, private-market assessment, and macro risk at ICONIQ Capital Investment Management, while continuing to develop an independent research platform with distinct personnel and research processes focused on industrial systems, technology, and AI-assisted decision methods.
2021–2023
Established a dedicated research group within the independent platform focused on AI-assisted drug discovery, diagnostic technologies, life-science tools, medical data systems, and applications of nanotechnology in healthcare research.
2024–today
The platform is supported by a small core team and a broader international network of researchers, engineers, and industry specialists examining long-horizon research, complex systems, and risk across market cycles.
